At Marktoya we attach great importance to your privacy. In this privacy policy we explain which personal data we collect, why we need it and how we protect it in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We process personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself when placing an order or via contact.

  • Payment data (we do not store card or bank details; payment is handled via Stripe)
  • IP address and device data (for security and fraud prevention)
  • Order history and communication history with customer service

3. For what purpose do we process data?

Marktoya processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Handling your payment and order: To deliver products to the correct address.
  • Customer service: To be able to call or email you if this is necessary to carry out our services (e.g. for returns or warranty).
  • Legal obligation: Such as data we need for our tax return.
  • Fraud prevention: To counter misuse, fraud and other unlawful acts.

4. Sharing personal data with third parties

Marktoya never sells your data to third parties. We only provide it where necessary for the performance of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

  • Parcel services (e.g. PostNL, DHL, DPD): They need your name and address to deliver the parcel.
  • Payment provider (Stripe): To securely process payment via card, iDEAL and other payment methods.
  • IT service providers and hosting: For securely hosting and maintaining our web shop.

5. How long we retain personal data

Marktoya does not retain your personal data longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected.

  • Tax retention obligation: We retain invoice, payment and order data for 7 years to comply with the legal record-keeping obligation of the tax authorities.
  • Customer accounts and order history: We retain these until you indicate that the account should be deleted, or after 5 years of inactivity.
  • Customer service communication: We retain this for a maximum of 2 years after the last contact.

6. Cookies, or similar techniques

7. Your privacy rights

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Marktoya.

You can send a request for access, correction or deletion to contact@marktoya.nl. We will respond as quickly as possible, but always within four weeks, to your request.

We would also like to point out that you have the option of lodging a complaint with the national supervisory authority.

Marktoya takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. Our website uses a reliable SSL certificate to ensure that your personal data does not fall into the wrong hands.
